The School of Spirituality of Fr. Jordan: To make mature decisions
On December 5-7, 2014 the School of Spirituality of Father Jordan offered the formation session dedicated to maturation towards taking important decisions in one’s life. The meeting was led by Piotr Szyrszeń SDS, Priest working in the Spiritual Formation Centre and spiritual retreat giver, and Józef Tarnówka SDS, spiritual director and retreat giver, who also translated the Spiritual Diary of Fr. Jordan.
Fr. Alojzy Gorol SDS (1962-2014)
On December 1st 2014 passed away Father Alojzy Gorol, Pastor of Our Lady of Fatima Parish in Węgorzewo. Thirty two years he spent as a member of the Salvatorian family and a quarter of an age he served as a Priest. His funeral is going to take place on December 6th, at 11 a.m. in the Blessed Virgin Mary the Mother of Saviour church in Mikołów. His parishioners will participate in the part of the ceremony on December 3-4.
Salvatorian Seminary: Ordinations to the Temporary Deaconate
On November 15th, in the chapel of the Salvatorian Major Seminary in Bagno, Bishop Andrzej Siemieniwski ordained to the Temporary Deaconate two alumni of the sixth year of studies: Cl. Jacek Nowak and Cl. Adrian Żądło. During the solemn Liturgy Fr. Piotr Filas, Provincial Superior, presented the candidates.
Missionary Volunteers: Nationwide meeting in Ponice
On November 7-11 this year, in Ponice, young people involved in the Missionary Volunteers „Salvator” (WMS) movement, arrived to the Salvatorian Parish in Ponice near Rabka Zdrój, for their twelfth meeting. Thus they began another formation year. Under the title “Meet Him!” they pondered upon the theme of the Kerygma included in the Revelation and preached by the Church and all the faithful by word and testimony of life.
Trzebnica: 10th anniversary of the pilgrimage on horseback
On October 25th in Trzebnica took place the celebrations of the 10th anniversary of the pilgrimage on horseback from St. Jadwiga of Silesia Shrine to Our Sorrowful Lady Shrine in Licheń. The hosts and benefactors who supported the pilgrims on their trail were especially invited. Fr. Piotr Filas SDS, Provincial Superior, presided over the Holy Mass and Fr. Jerzy Olszówka SDS gave a homily.
Salvatorian Seminary: Studia Salvatoriana Polonica
The newest, eight volume of the academic magazine “Studia Salvatoriana Polonica” was published recently. It is mainly dedicated to the following theme: “Church in a family – family in the Church.” Customarily it also contains texts on the Salvatorian history as well as other theological subjects.
Salvatorian Seminary: New academic year
On Saturday, October 11 2014, in the Salvatorian Major Seminary in Bagno, took place the inauguration of the new academic year  2014/2015. The program began at 9.30 a.m. with the Holy Mass, presided over by the Most Reverend Andrzej Siemieniewski. In the celebration participated, among others, rectors and delegates of various seminaries, representatives of local authorities, health services and education, professors, lecturers and Salvatorians from Poland and abroad.
Fr. Henryk Matusik SDS (1943-2014)
Fr. Henryk Matusik was born on January 29, 1943 in Łagiewniki near Bytom in Upper Silesia. He was raised, together with his four siblings, in the family of Wincenty and Agnieszka. He was Baptised and received the Sacrament of Confirmation in his home Parish of St. John Nepomucen in Łagiewniki. Fr. Tadeusz Mucha (1975-2014)
On September 19, in Bielsko-Biała (Mikuszowice Śląskie) the Salvatorian Family will attend the funeral of Father Tadeusz Mucha, a young Salvatorian Priest, who lived his religious charism with great candidness and whose main evangelization means were: his good sense of humor and numerous artistic talents.
