Fr. Józef Stachoń SDS (1932-2014)
Fr. Józef Stachoń died on September 1, 2014 in Trzebnica. He went to Our Lord at the age of 82, after 55 years of Priesthood and 60 years of religious life. His funeral took place on September 4, 2014. After the Holy Mass celebrated in the Basilica of Trzebnica his earthly remains were buried in the religious community tomb in Bagno.
Mexico, Campeche: Brother Salvdor renewed his vows
On August 14th, 2014, the vigil of the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virign Mary, during the Eucharist, Brother Salvador Peñaloza Hernandez SDS reneved his religious vows in the Society of the Divine Savior, into the hands of Fr. Piotr Filas, Superior of the Polish Province of the Salvatorians.
Ukraine: I believe, I am not alone
“I believe, I am not alone” was the title of the 4th Youth Meeting of the Mukachevo Diocese, Ukraine, which took place in Svalava. This significant event is always connected with the Parish feast day on August 15th i.e. the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. This year Fr. Edward Kawa, Franciscan from Boryspol near Kyiv was the spiritual director of the meeting.
Mexico, Campeche: Jornadas Salvatorians
On July 25- 27th 2014, in the Instituto Mendoza took place the Salvatorian Youth Days dedicated to young people (16-20 years of age) and organized by the Salvatorian youth from St. Joseph the Worker Parish and the Salvatorians from Campeche. Among participants were residents of Campeche, but also groups from Merida and Bolonchen.
Merrillville: Do not be afraid
Only 33 miles and only 2 days... For the 27th time already the Salvatorians accompanied the pilgrims, whom they served earlier on their pilgrimage, encouraging them with Jesus' words: Do not be afraid. A pilgrimage on foot in Poland is no surprise, especially around the Częstochowa area. However in the United States it is different.
Pilgrimages on foot to the Queen of Poland Sanctuary
Summer in Poland is the time of pilgrimages on foot to the most famous Sanctuary of Our Lady in Częstochowa. A pilgrimage is a symbol of the way of faith every Christian has to take during his or her lifetime, in the footsteps of our Savior Jesus Christ. A pilgrimage is a very special kind of spiritual retreat, when pilgrims unite their prayers with their physical efforts, struggling to overcome their weaknesses and to face reality.
RMS: Everything there was Divine
In Dobroszyce near Wrocław just ended the 21st Salvatorian Forum of the Youth. On its website day by day were available fresh reports and ehthusiastic and joyful video presentations. The title of this year’s Forum was: “You are Divine”. It aimed at developing in young people their awareness and sense  of being loved by God, who continues to bestow on them his graces every day of their lives.
SOP: The 8th Salvatorian Football Tournament
On June 12-14, 2014 took place in Cracow, for the eight time already, the Salvatorian Football Tournament, organized by the Salvatorian Vocation Center (Polish abbreviation: SOP). This year 75 participants competed for the title of Champion. In the tournament took part the teams from Warsaw, Krzywin Gryfiński, Oborniki Śląskie, Gardwaice, Zakopane, Więciórka, Dobroszyce and young people involved in the RMS (Salvatorian Youth Movement) and SOP.
Nitra, Slovakia: Another church entrusted to the Salvatorians
On June 4-5, 2014-08-12 the Salvatorian community in Nitra was officially visited by Fr. Piotr Filas, the provincial Superior of the Polish Province SDS, accompanied by Fr. Bogusław Loska, Vicar Provincial of the Province. An important point of the visitation was the meeting of the Provincial Superior with Mons. Peter Brodek, General Vicar of the Diocese of Nitra on behalf of the Most Rev. Viliam Judak, the Ordinary Bishop of the Diocese.
Trzebnica: Festival of Religious Song
On Friday, May 30th 2014 began in Trzebnica the 16th Salvatorian Festival of Religious Song. This year’s star of the Festival was the well known in Poland band TGD (Trzecia Godzina Dnia, which means “The Third Day of a Day”). The Festival lasts two days only, but it is a powerful event, uniting fun and prayer, when young people may strengthen and express, also in an artistic way, their faith and share it with others.
