Seven thousand people took part in the pilgrimage. They left on Saturday morning, after the Holy Mass celebrated in St. Michael church in Chicago. Fr. Piotr Filas SDS, Provincial Superior of the Polish Province of the Society of the Divine Savior, gave a homily during the Eucharist and he also took part in the entire pilgrimage. Among the pilgrims was also the Most Rev. Donald J. Hying, Ordinary Bishop of the Diocese of Gary.

In the evening the pilgrims arrived to the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Ludźmierz in Munster, entrusted to the pastoral care of the Discalzed Carmelites, where they spent the night. On Sunday they reached the Sanctuary in Merrillville. Twelve thousand people participated in the Eucharist at the end of the pilgrimage.
