Salvatorian Major Seminary: Renewal of Religious Vows
On December 8th 2013, at the Salvatorian Major Seminary in Bagno, Cl. Japhet Sway SDS and Cl. Exuperi Mkwawe SDS renewed their religious profession of vows. The two Seminarians come from the Tanzanian Province of the Society of the Divine Savior and they continue their formation in Poland, preparing themselves for the studies at the Seminary.
Fr. Jerzy Sienkiewicz SDS (1949-2013)
Fr. Jerzy Sienkiewicz was born on April 19th 1949 in Łokacz near Krzyż Wielkopolski. He was one of four children of Leonard and Walentyna nee Wojno. Merrillville, USA: Coronation of the Icon of Our Lady of Częstochowa
On August 25th 2013, at noon, on the 30th anniversary of dedication of the church in Merrillville and the Parish Feast, took place the coronation of the Icon of Our Lady of Częstochowa venerated in this church. The Most Rev. Dale Melczek, Bishop of Gary, presided over the Holy Mass, in which participated about one thousand of the faithful.
Seminary SDS: Professions and Jubilees 2013
On September 8th 2013, the Nativity of the Mother of God, which was the 95th death anniversary of Father Francis Jordan, Founder of the Salvatorian Society, Salvatorian Seminarians and Brothers took their first religious vows or renewed them and some of them made the perpetual profession, dedicating themselves to the service of God and Church in the Society of the Divine Savior.
Fr. Stanisław Planta SDS (1930-2013)
Fr. Stanisław Planta (religious name: Klemens) was born on April 20th 1930 in Rzozów near Skawina, Archdiocese of Kraków. He was the eldest son of Piotr and Zofia nee Kotula. From 1937 to 1944 he attended Elementary School in Rzozów-Radziszów. On June 18th 1944 he was accepted to the boarding school of the Salvatorians in Kraków, where he continued his education on Junior High School level.
Fr. Andrzej Mikołajczyk SDS (1939-2013)
Fr. Andrzej Mikołajczyk died in the morning of August 12th 2013, at the hospital at Lindley Street in Warsaw. He went to Our Lord at the age of 74, in the 46th year of his Priesthood and 54th year of religious life. His funeral took place on August 17th, at the church of the Divine Savior in Cracow-Zakrzówek.
Salvatorian Youth Forum 2013
The 20th Salvatorian Youth Forum took place on July 6-15, in Dobroszyce. This year its motto was: “Chin up!” and it gathered record number of participants from Poland and abroad (Hungary). The Forum is organized by the Salvatorian Youth Movement. Many Salvatorians, including superior of the Polish Province SDS, served at the event. The daily Mass often was concelebrated by about 20 priests.
Fr. Władysław (rel. Marian) Pawlik SDS (1932-2013)
Fr. Władysław Pawlik was born on November 3rd 1932 in Płoki, district of Chrzanów. On October 7th 1949 he entered the Novitiate of the Society of the Divine Savior in Bagno and received the habit and his religious name: Marian. After completing the Novitiate formation he continued his education in High School in Trzebnica. On October 3rd 1953 he made his first religious profession in Bagno.
TODAY: Salvatorian Youth Football Championship
Last year the English and Dutch Football representations arrived in Cracow to take part in Euro 2012. Today, Cracow – the City of Kings, will host nine teams representing Salvatorian Parishes and other apostolates.  In the shadows of the Royal Wawel Castle, at the Kotlarczyk Brothers Football Stadium, will take place the VII Salvatorian Football Championship.
